Take a seat in our bar, order a drink you enjoy, and let yourself be drawn into the rich, fascinating history of the castle. Discover the people, the vision, and the architecture that shaped this remarkable place on the plains of West Sweden.
The story begins in 1911, with oil magnate Knut Henrik Littorin, whose life stretched from the Russian Revolution to the heart of the Swedish countryside. A man with a vision so grand he convinced none other than Ferdinand Boberg – the architect behind Rosenbad and the NK department store – to design a Jugendstil castle of granite and limestone, right here in the middle of the farmland.
But it’s more than just architecture. It’s about marble-clad salons, hidden peepholes, silk wallpaper from France, and a smoking room inspired by the palaces of the Kremlin. And it’s about the people who lived here – their stories, their drama, and their dreams.
